Senior IT Support Engineer – Windows 2008 / VMWare – Maidenhead - £35k

An IT Support Engineer with strong Windows Operating Systems knowledge and VMWare experience is required by our International Software client based near Maidenhead on the Berkshire and Buckinghamshire borders. A salary of up to £35,000 is offered dependent upon experience.

The IT Support Engineer will evaluate and report to the IT Manager on the Service Level Agreements (SLAs), internal policies and procedures, training needs and technical maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have excellent technical experience working with Active Directory and Exchange 2007 (or Exchange 2010) and Windows 2008 as well as strong VMWare ESXi and some SAN Storage knowledge (preferably Equalogic or Dell Powervault). My client is looking for a strong technical applicant with good TCP/IP networking and systems administration experience who is capable of assisting with client installation projects.

Applicants who have mentored and/or supported small teams (minimum 3 staff) are at an advantage. As part of the team you must be willing to carry out all levels of support from 1 ^st line to 3 ^rd line as well as supporting the IT Manager in setting the policies and procedures for the internal teams.

Essential skills:

-          Windows Server 2008 / AD / Exchange 2007

-          Strong VMWare ESXi and SAN Storage experience

-          Previous team leading experience (or mentoring)

-          Previous client facing installation experience

-          Experience setting IT policies and meeting Service Level Agreements
